March 2010 - Yes, Legalizing Abortion Does Save Women's Lives: Anti-choicers are making bizarre claims that legalizing abortion does not improve maternal health and may even harm it, and that countries with strict anti-abortion laws have better maternal health records. Nothing could be further from the truth.

March 2010 - Abortion Still Does Not Lead to an Increased Risk of Breast Cancer (or other health problems):  Anti-choicers will never let facts get in the way of their ideology, but here's the evidence again anyway.

The Conservative Party has passed a resolution to support another bill just like Bill C-484.

November 2008 - List of Anti-Choice MP's after the October 2008 Election. 38% of all MPs have anti-choice records, including 68% of the Conservative caucus, 25% of the Liberal caucus, and 2 Independents. The stance of 21% of MPs is unknown.

September 2008 - A Harper Majority Government Would Pass Anti-Abortion Restrictions. At least 40% of MPs in the current Parliament have anti-choice records - 74% of the Conservative caucus, and 28% of the Liberal caucus. A Harper majority government would easily tip the balance to well over 50% of Parliament, allowing anti-abortion bills to pass. This page includes a complete list of all known anti-choice MP's and their recent voting records.

Arguments Against Bill C-537: "Protection of conscience rights in the health care profession."
A bill introduced in April by Conservative MP Maurice Vellacott would violate patients' right to healthcare, as well as conflict with Prime Minister Harper's election promise not to legislate on abortion.

January 2008 - Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Morgentaler Decision on January 28, 2008!  Abortion was decriminalized in Canada on that date. Throughout the year, activists and community groups will hold events to celebrate the importance of this decision.
